Almost 400 fires are reported each year in the United States that can be attributed to oxy-fuel cutting and welding equipment, which in some cases result in death, injury, and property damage. Smith torches are engineered to reduce fire and explosion risks and operator error. Our exclusive design incorporates a flashback arrestor in the torch head. Unlike major competitors’ torches, Smith torches also mix fuel and oxygen right in the torch tip. That way, the effects of flashback and burnback are limited to the cutting tip, where the risks of fire and explosion are minimal. We call these two engineered safety features Dual Guard™.
